02 / Behind the work
The problem
Recruitment often depends on how effectively someone describes their abilities. TalentLink explores how relevant evidence can sit alongside those descriptions, helping employers understand not only what a candidate claims to know but how they have applied it.
The approach
The experience is organised around candidate profiles and supporting evidence. The aim is to make skills, projects and qualifications understandable without overwhelming employers with disconnected information.
Engineering decisions
A maintainable application needs clear boundaries between presentation, data and services. Authentication, profile permissions and reliable data storage are important considerations as the product moves beyond its initial interface.
03 / Engineering
Implementation & technical decisions
The technical direction centres on a React and TypeScript application with API-driven services, authentication and database-backed profiles. Separating the interface from underlying data and services creates room for the product to evolve without tying every feature to a single component or screen.

04 / Outcomes
TalentLink has developed from an initial idea into a broader product and engineering exploration. It provides an opportunity to consider how user experience, trust, information architecture and the technical needs of a two-sided platform influence one another.
05 / Lessons
The hardest product problems are not always technical. Understanding what users need, deciding what evidence creates trust and reducing friction in the experience can influence the architecture just as much as the code.
